Music Lounge, Wollongong Town Hall
Cnr Crown St & Kembla St, Wollongong NSW 2500
Join us for the launch of our 2019 program. Hosted by Sydney comedian Lizzy Hoo, this free, public event will see us raise a glass or two to writing and its power to illuminate topics that usually remain hidden in the dark, while local violinist Jane Aubourg sets the party mood with her post-minimalist, looping tunes. The theme of this year's festival is All Lit Up, so this is sure to be an enlightening evening!

Some 45 years after it was composed, and rounding out the programme, is the Australian premiere of iconic Australian composer Moya Henderson’s Clearing the Air. These works speak to each other across two generations and BIFEM audiences are all the richer for the exchange.
Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music: Cushion Concert

The Cushion Concert remains one of the most hotly contested performance opportunities for BIFEM artists. Live Soundtrack to Silent Film: Peter Pan (1924)
Wesley Mission
220 Pitt St, Sydney, Australia 2000
Wesley Mission and Australia’s Silent Film Festival presents the very first film version of J.M Barrie’s play Peter Pan, created in 1924. Ingeniously capturing the mysteries and adventures of childhood, James M. Barrie’s Peter Pan is a timeless play that became one of the most popular films in the 1920s. Betty Bronson stars as Peter Pan, the charming and forever-young boy on a journey to Never Never Land, in the memorable adaptation which later inspired other film versions of the story. With remarkable special effects for a film of its time, alongside an exceptionally talented cast, this silent film is a walk down memory lane for some, and for others, a brand new cinematic experience. Above all, this spectacular black and white film is enjoyable for the whole family, and offers a wonderful day to be spent together. The film will be brought to life by two musical talents, Elizabeth Jigalin and Jane Aubourg, performing live during the screening. $30 Adult | $25 Concession/Child
